The House of Architects in Stuttgart is a forum for building culture and the seat of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects. The glazed foyer has been extensively modernized. Individual panes had become leaky and cloudy in the edge bond, water penetrated. The glazing no longer met modern energy requirements. In addition, the anti-glare protection installed on the inside was maintenance-intensive and hindered the clear view. The complex requirements for modernization: reducing air conditioning costs, improving lighting conditions, glare-free views without shading. The client opted for electrochromic triple solar control glass ECONTROL®. It is dimmable and thus allows the g-value and the light transmission to be varied depending on the sunlight. This eliminates the external shading and anti-glare protection.
